In October 2008, a group of residents set out to travel to Africa for the first time on a surgical mission to address complex surgical oncology in the rural town of Eldoret. Collaborating with the RJW Foundation, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Moi University medical school, the Kenyan Ministry of Health and with sheer determination, the team set out bringing five attendings, three residents and boxes of equipment and supplies.
