Avastin for soft-tissue sarcoma

Drugs that block new blood vessel formation may help kill sarcomas by preventing their nourishment by the blood vessels. According to a recent article published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the addition of Avastin® (bevacizumab) to the chemotherapy agent Adriamycin® (doxorubicin) may slow cancer progression in patients with metastatic soft-tissue sarcomas. Obesity Linked to Ovarian Cancer

Obese postmenopausal women who have never used hormone replacement therapy may face an increased risk of ovarian cancer, compared to normal-weight women, a new study suggests. Interestingly, obese women who have used hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for symptoms of menopause may not face increased risk for this type of malignancy.
